Case Study: “We have expanded” |
Background
Sathe & Company is an Indian family run sanitaryware store which has been in business since 1912. In March 2005 they opened up a new showroom in Pune, and we designed the invitation for their opening event.
After 7 successful months, Sathe & Company expanded the new showroom to include three additional floors of sanitary ware. Due to the great response to the first invitation we had created, we were asked to design a second invitation for the opening of the expanded showroom.
Challenge
Since there had been an opening of the initial showroom only 7 months earlier, the challenge was to reduce confusion about a second opening of the same showroom. We had to focus on the expansion of the already existing showroom, at the same time as we wanted to take advantage of people potential memory of the initial invite from 7 months earlier.
The Solution
Using precisely the same design of the initial invite, we created a seven-fold (instead of one-fold) imitation which expanded to a long card as the invitation was unfolded. The concept was well appreciated and celebrated by the numerous costumers and architects who attended the opening. |
